Chirai Waterfalls

In the corner where Dang runs toward the Vansda border country, a forest drop closes out the western falls loop. Even the district's own weekend traffic rarely reaches this stretch. The pin and a traveller's visit are the record; the reward, in season, is a monsoon waterfall with a decent chance of having it entirely to yourself.

Baaj and its view point sit a few kilometres north-east on the same lanes; Vansda National Park's forests are just over the western line. Standard pocket rules: carry everything, go with the rains, ask the villages.

Highlights

  • The western loop's loneliest fall
  • Forest country running toward the Vansda border
  • A real chance of complete solitude in season

Traveller tips

  • Make it the last stop of the Baaj–Koshmal day rather than a solo target
  • Ask at Baaj for current path conditions before committing

Safety

  • Near-zero network and no traffic, never go alone
  • Slick rock and leeches through the monsoon window
