Small and unpretentious. Beds of roses in mixed varieties arranged around lawns and paths near the lakefront, with the hills doing the backdrop work. It peaks in the cool months, December to February mornings carry actual fragrance, and looks tired by late summer, as rose gardens do.
Treat it as a add-on to the lake rather than a destination: fifteen minutes of colour, a few photographs, a bench in the sun. Serious garden energy in Saputara belongs to the Step Garden and, in the Waghai belt below, the botanical garden. That said, on a clear January morning with the beds full and the light low, this little plot quietly outperforms its size.
Highlights
- ◆Rose beds at their best December–February
- ◆Lakefront location, pairs with the lake loop
- ◆Quick, low-effort colour stop
Traveller tips
- →Fold it into the lake walk rather than driving separately
